Industrial Grade Equipment Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ELCI) is designed to protect and safeguard equipment, personnel and electrical circuits from ground
fault leakage. This line of product mitigates the effects that a ground fault may have on your integrated equipment while also providing substantial shock
protection for humans. As configured, the ELCI has three fault threshold settings of 6mA, 10mA, and 30mA. While all unit settings have engineered trip
times of 25mS or less at 500 Ohms, the lowest fault threshold setting (6mA) offers the greatest level of personnel protection and the remaining fault
threshold settings offer a significant degree of protection for applications such as welders, pumps, motors, and generators and come standard with
selectable key switching for fault level threshold, power-on/off and reset type (Auto vs. Manual – safe start) settings. The enclosure is constructed from high
fiberglass reinforced plastic that withstands Chemical and U.V. light exposure and the end-product meets or exceeds a NEMA 4X wet location rating. The
devices are designed for indoor/outdoor applications as all enclosure entry points are sealed to prevent water intrusion and/or tampering. In addition, to
aid in the notification of a ground fault condition, all units come standard with an external xenon strobe that triggers upon fault. These units come standard
with 24” lead wires for electrical splicing and two 1” flexible conduit fittings for integration to 1” flexible, EMT, PVC or burial conduit. These devices are ideal
for both new and existing circuit runs (Note: ELCIs only protect downstream or “load side”). This convenience allows the installer to place this ELCI at an
accessible location for the end user.
Note: With acceptable volume North Shore Safety can reduce overall product cost by eliminating selectable features and creating fixed set point ELCIs.
Consult factory on your application and the feasibility of a fixed set point ELCI.
